The temperatures are increasing this week. There are some basic health tips when the temperature gets up into the 80s and above. They are even more important when the humidity is high. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids. Liquids containing caffeine and alcohol are not desirable and can have a detrimental affect. It is most effective to carry water or a similar substance and periodically have small drinks of it over time. Be sure to use sunblock if out in the sun and the use of a hat is good to protect the face. Quality sunglasses can be protective of the eyes. Footwise, I suggest shoes that “breath” well and light cotton socks if wearing closed shoes. Please do not forget the sunblock on exposed areas of the feet. These tips from the good Dr. Resnick should be useful and remember to call 203-853-6570 to reach East Avenue Podiatry as needed.
